Repentance

Hosea 6:1–2 – “Come, let us return to the Lord… After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

Repentance is one of the most beautiful gifts God gives us. It’s not the heavy word some of us have made it out to be. It’s not about shame, guilt, or endlessly replaying what went wrong. It’s about turning and coming home.

Repentance is us saying, “I’m done running. I’m done pretending I’m fine. I want to walk with You again.”

Fasting softens us for this. It slows us down long enough for honesty to surface. When we strip everything else away – all the food, noise, entertainment - there’s nowhere to hide from what’s really going on in our hearts. But this isn’t something to fear. Every wound God reveals, He also promises to bind. Every place that’s been torn by sin, pride, disappointment, or exhaustion becomes the very place He revives.

If we fast without repentance, it just becomes hunger. Repentance and fasting belong together.

Throughout Scripture, whenever God’s people fasted, it was almost always preceded by repentance or carried repentance within it.

Before we can pray bold, we have to come clean.

We become crazy bold in God’s presence, and we pray with authority when the heart is soft. It’s difficult to pray bold when your heart’s still burdened by distance, distraction, or unconfessed sin.

The power of fasting is that it humbles us into a place where repentance flows naturally - and that repentance clears the way for faith to rise. When repentance comes first, boldness is no longer about convincing God to move - it’s about standing clean, confident, and close enough to hear what He’s already saying.

So today, let repentance become worship. Let tears be cleansing, not heavy. Let honesty be freeing. Return fully, not halfway.

Don’t rush this part. Let the Spirit do His deep work.

PRAY BOLD:

“Today I turn back to You completely. Expose whatever is not of You, and heal what’s been hidden. Thank You that Your mercy runs faster than my mistakes. Revive the places that have grown numb, and let repentance open the door to fresh joy, peace, and purpose in You.”

EQUIPPERS EVERYWHERE:

Today we are praying for Germany!

(As part of this fast, we’re lifting up our Equippers family and churches around the world. Each day, take a few moments to pray for the country we list and our church/es there - praying for the pastors and people, and believing for God’s presence, power, and provision to move in that nation.)
