Faith That Takes New Ground

Joshua 1:3-9
“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

By now you’ve probably discovered something: fasting doesn’t just strip back, it propels forward. While it may feel like subtraction on the surface - less food, less distraction - it’s actually divine acceleration underneath.

When we fast, God isn’t only removing the clutter; He’s re-aligning us with our calling. He begins to stir dreams again, renew vision, and awaken courage to act on what He’s been whispering. What once felt impossible starts to feel inevitable because His Spirit is moving.

Imagine Joshua standing on the edge of promise. God had already given the land, but they still had to step into it and walk it out.

During this fast, God is enlarging your spirit for 2026 and for the next season. Don’t shrink back into the familiar when the unfamiliar is where miracles happen.

Boldly believe! Then boldly step!

The same presence that was with Joshua goes with you. Wherever you place your foot in obedience, God’s promise meets you there.

Taking new ground isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s simply doing the next obedient thing. It’s making a hard phone call, stepping into leadership, trusting God with your future, or deciding to stay faithful where you are.

New ground always begins where our comfort ends.

For some of us, we have just been holding ground. But faith doesn’t hold ground, it takes ground. God’s people were never meant to camp forever in familiar territory. There’s always more - new influence to carry, new people to reach, new areas of life to surrender.

The promise to Joshua still stands: Every place you set your foot, I will give you. But you have to move your feet.

If you’ve felt stuck or hesitant, ask God what “new ground” means for you this season. He’s already gone before you. The land is marked by promise; you just need to walk it out.

What new ground do you sense God calling you to take in this next season - and what courageous first step can you take today?

This month is the launchpad for bold obedience.

PRAY BOLD
“Lord, thank You that You go before me. I don’t want to just hold ground - I want to take new ground. Show me where to step next, and fill me with courage to move when You say go.”

EQUIPPERS EVERYWHERE:
Today we are praying for Mexico!

(As part of this fast, we’re lifting up our Equippers family and churches around the world. Each day, take a few moments to pray for the country we list and our church/es there - praying for the pastors and people, and believing for God’s presence, power, and provision to move in that nation.)
