Matthew 17:20–21
“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.”
By this stage of the fast, your body is feeling the stretch - but your spirit is getting stronger. That’s how mountain-moving faith is built.
Jesus used the mustard seed because it’s tiny but alive. It grows, pushes through soil, and becomes something significant. It grows large enough to give shade!
He was showing His disciples that the strength of their faith didn’t depend on how big it was. The smallest seed of real trust in God carries more power than all the doubt in the world.
You don’t need massive confidence, and you may even have some doubt still. And that is okay. All you need is a little trust that refuses to die.
What mountains stand in your way right now? Debt? Disappointment? A closed door? Generational cycles that have always followed your family? Or often the mountain is internal - fear, comparison, cynicism, or the belief that God will do it for everyone else but you.
Speak faith to those mountains. Jesus didn’t say to think faith; He said to say it. When you speak His promises, mountains begin to shift.
We pray that during this fast you start to see mountains for what they really are - temporary. God’s presence can move what looks immovable.
Every mountain has a name, and every name still bows to His.
3 practical things you can do today:
1. Name the mountain in your life, family, or workplace that needs to move.
2. Name the step of faith you can take while God moves the rest. Don’t wait for the whole landscape to change before you take your first step. The smallest act of obedience - spoken faith, consistent prayer, a quiet yes - can shift what feels immovable.
3. Speak the name of Jesus to that mountain, and believe that at His name, every obstacle must bow.
Mark 11:23 - Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt… it will be done for them.”
PRAY BOLD
“Father, You see every mountain before me, and I name those mountains today… I speak Your truth over fear and impossibility. I speak the name of Jesus to that mountain. Let what feels unmovable move in Your name. Amen.”
